Introducing SpamScope: A New Member Benefit
Attention: Authorized e-mails only beyond this point. Spam not permitted.

Tired of getting unwanted, unsolicited, and unwelcome
e-mail? Meet SpamScope, the newest recruit in Atlantic.Net's army of account tools. SpamScope acts as a checkpoint for your e-mail that only grants clearance to legitimate messages that you want to read. This free filtering tool scans your messages for enemy spam, then arms you with the power to send the unwanted mail straight to the trash, capture it in a separate folder, or allow it to pass into your inbox. SpamScope also provides you with an "intelligence" report explaining why the message appears suspicious! Not interested in reports? No problem. SpamScope is easy to customize.

So why is SpamScope the most effective weapon in your arsenal, soldier? SpamScope guards your mailbox against spam, raises your defenses against computer viruses, and protects you and your family from obscene material and annoying advertisements.

If you really want to maximize your spam-fighting strategy, boost your ammunition by combining SpamScope's power with Atlantic.Net's Web-based
e-mail program. With Webmail, not only can you separate your spam from the messages you want to receive, but you can relax in the safety of a virus-free zone.

So how do you get started? Login with your Atlantic.Net username and password to access SpamScope. Then, activate SpamScope to protect your account and use the general options to choose the fate of your spam. Once you give SpamScope its first assignment, you never need to return unless you want update your settings. SpamScope does all the grunt work for you!

October's Scary Movies

It's the month for ghosts, goblins, and ghouls, and so you'd expect perhaps another Halloween flick. But October's films terrify with frightening fantasy and disturbing realism.

Red Dragon — This movie, from the first book of the Hannibal Lecter trilogy, stars Edward Norton as ex-FBI agent Will Graham, who comes out of retirement to confront his nemesis Hannibal the Cannibal (Anthony Hopkins) in order to catch the Tooth Fairy, a ritualistic butcher as twisted and brilliant as the now-incarcerated Lecter. The movie, opening Oct. 4, also stars Ralph Fiennes, Harvey Keitel, and Mary-Louise Parker.

White Oleander — Ingrid Mangussen (Michelle Pfeiffer) is sentenced to life in prison for poisoning her ex-boyfriend, forcing her teenage daughter, Astrid (Alison Lohman) into foster care. Astrid and Ingrid keep in touch, while Astrid struggles with new families, religion, drugs, starvation, and forbidden love. But when Astrid has the chance to get her mother back, will she lie to authorities for her return? Also stars Renée Zellweger, Noah Wyle, and Robin Wright Penn. In theaters Oct. 11.

Abandon — As a college student faced with taking exams, completing her thesis, and competing for job interviews, Katie (Katie Holmes) is under pressure. But when detective Wade Handler (Benjamin Bratt) shows up investigating the two-year-old disappearance of her boyfriend Embry (Charlie Hunnam), Katie is forced to face haunting memories. Expect chills from this psychological thriller, opening Oct. 18.

Ghost Ship — Recruited by Canadian Air Force pilot Jack Ferriman (Desmond Harrington) to salvage the wreck of the Antonia Graza, the crew of the tugboat Arctic Warrior, led by Captain Sean Murphy (Gabriel Byrne) and salvage team leader Maureen Epps (Julianna Margulies), soon discovers that the Antonia is anything but deserted. Instead it's home to a mystery so deadly and horrific that they must unravel it to survive. In theaters Oct. 25.
