INTRODUCTION
This newsletter is sent to Atlantic.Net members each month to
provide information on what's happening here at Atlantic.Net. We hope to use it to keep
you better informed and to get your input on topics of interest. We are working on being
the best Internet provider anywhere, and with your input we will get there!
Thank you for subscribing to Atlantic.Net Internet Services!
NEW ACCESS NUMBERS IN TAMPA BAY AREA
Atlantic.Net subscribers in the Tampa Bay area need
to change their local access number due to an equipment move and upgrade. Please select
the new number for your local calling area.
Tampa: 813-386-1114
St. Petersburg: 727-499-1112
New Port Richey: 727-853-1112
Lakeland: 941-583-3332
Sarasota: 941-684-3332
Members are responsible for ensuring that a number is local to them. For more information on changing your access number please click here or call 1-800-921-9328.
VIRTUAL DOMAIN NAMES NOW AVAILABLE
Users with personal or business home pages with their
Atlantic.Net accounts will be happy to learn that we have introduced a virtual domain name
service. For instance, if your Web page address is currently http://www.atlantic.net/~dcc
(in this case, "dcc" equals your username), visitors to your site may now type
in http://dcc.members.atlantic.net and be routed to the site. We hope this will make it
even easier for visitors to find your Web site. Both addresses point to the same location.
For information on setting up a personal Web site please click here.
NEW PHONE LINES AND SERVICE UPGRADES
In the past month we've increased capacity in the
following cities to better serve our members: Brooksville, Gainesville, Tampa, Crystal
River and Jacksonville.
Atlantic.Net Members in the Live Oak area have already noticed faster, more reliable dial-up connections since we upgraded to 56K modems last month. Subscribers using v.90 or K56flex modems should not have to make any changes to their systems to connect at the higher speeds. Users still using X2 modems must contact their modem manufacturer and upgrade to the new v.90 standard. For more information please, visit our 56K information page.
ACCOUNT HIBERNATION
This the time of year when many of our subscribers leave
Florida to travel or live elsewhere for the summer. For these customers we have our
Account Hibernation service available. Instead of canceling the service outright, users
can hibernate their account for as long as they like for a small monthly fee. If you would
like your e-mail forwarded to another address, and make sure that your username is still
available when you return, just call Member Services at 1-800-921-9328 and ask to
hibernate your account. When you get back in the fall, let us know and your account will
be reactivated immediately.
ACCESSING ATLANTIC.NET
A complete listing of our current POPs (Points-of-Presence) is
available here. Remember
that you can use your account to dial-in from any of the cities where we offer local
access (if you go there on vacation, move, etc.). In addition, you may refer new users
(family, friends, etc.) who live in any of these cities and earn a free month of access
for yourself. Note: Travel features and referral credits are not
available to promotional account users.
UPDATING YOUR ACCOUNT INFORMATION
For those of you paying by credit card, please check
to make sure that we have the current expiration date. Notices are also sent out via
e-mail to all affected accounts. Also, if you have recently moved or gotten a new phone
number, please let us know so we can update our records. To verify or update account
information, please call Member Services at 1-800-921-9328 or send e-mail to Member Services.
HOW TO CHANGE YOUR BILLING METHOD
If you normally pay your Atlantic.Net service fees by
check, you may want to consider changing your billing method to credit card or direct bank
debit. We accept Visa, MasterCard, Discover and American Express. When paying
automatically there are no invoice fees and no quarterly payments. For those members who
would like to continue paying by check, you may now choose to have your invoice sent via
e-mail instead of regular U.S. mail. For more information please e-mail our Billing Department or visit the Billing Options section of our Web page.
